Ethanol
Paving the way for a greener future with ethanol excellence
Our ethanol production process begins with the delicate extraction of cane juice, obtained by crushing cane stalks. This raw material then undergoes a transformation in our state-of-the-art fermentation tank, where the magic of yeast fermentation takes centre stage. Through this meticulous process, ethanol is born, accompanied by various industrial spirits that contribute to its unique composition. Our refined ethanol, a result of this intricate journey, plays a vital role as an additive to automotive gasoline. Molasses, a valuable by product, serve as the raw material for ethanol production.
As an eco-friendly fuel, ethanol acts as an oxygenate, containing a high percentage of oxygen that facilitates more complete fuel combustion and reduces harmful vehicular emissions. Recognizing its environmental benefits, the government has mandated the blending of 5% ethanol with petrol in nine states and four union territories since October 1, 2003.
We are among a handful of companies consuming its entire molasses output captive, eliminating reliance on purchases. Our sugar diversion for ethanol production is consistently increasing, validating the position of the distillery segment as a revenue driver and quick cash flow generator.
Our two distilleries in Uttar Pradesh have an aggregate installed capacity of 325 KLPD. Equipped with the latest technology, including a new molasses tank and a multi-evaporator system, our distillery units enjoy a longstanding association with ethanol buyers, particularly oil marketing companies.
This shift towards ethanol production supports a circular economy, as it often utilizes byproducts from sugarcane and other agricultural sources, transforming waste into energy. As more industries and consumers seek sustainable alternatives, ethanol offers a promising path forward by reducing reliance on oil, decreasing air pollution, and promoting rural economic growth. Through advancements in ethanol technology and production standards, companies are helping create a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape that addresses climate change and energy needs.
